Massage Therapy

Andrea Blake

I have been a licensed massage therapist since 2011. Throughout those years I have gained valuable insight into how the body works. I specialize in the more technical aspects of care. My focus is on treating the problem with plausible science-based manual therapy solutions. The majority of my education in massage therapy has been focused on working with pain, range of motion, and clinical management. Each session begins with a sit down assessment to find out why you are seeking a massage. I believe my clients are entitled to the highest caliber of therapeutic massage. For each massage, I choose techniques catered to you as an individual. Combining different modalities means I can give you the best massage I know how, whether that be sports therapy, deep tissue, Myoskeletal, or even TMJ work. Self care is a necessity for overall health and I believe it should leave you feeling rejuvenated. It’s my goal to provide a space that is calming and a session that leaves you feeling spoiled.

Deep Tissue Massage:

Deep tissue massage is a type of massage therapy that focuses on releasing chronic muscle tension and knots by applying sustained pressure using slow, deep strokes. This technique targets the deeper layers of muscles and connective tissue to alleviate pain and improve mobility. It is often used to treat injuries and chronic pain conditions.

Neuromuscular Massage:

Neuromuscular massage is a type of massage therapy that focuses on the relationship between the nervous system and muscles to address pain and dysfunction. The therapist applies pressure to specific areas of the body to release trigger points, which are areas of tightness and hypersensitivity in the muscles. This technique aims to restore proper function to the muscles and alleviate pain by addressing the underlying neuromuscular imbalances.

Sports Massage:

Sports massage is a form of massage therapy that is designed to help athletes prepare for and recover from physical activity. The therapist uses a combination of techniques, such as deep tissue massage, stretching, and compression, to help improve flexibility, prevent injuries, and promote healing. Sports massage is often used before or after a competition or training session to help athletes perform at their best and recover more quickly.

Swedish Massage:

Swedish massage is a popular type of massage therapy that involves long, gliding strokes, kneading, and circular movements on the topmost layers of muscles. The primary goal of this technique is to promote relaxation, improve circulation, and relieve muscle tension. Swedish massage typically uses lighter pressure than deep tissue massage, making it an ideal choice for those seeking a gentler massage experience.

Prenatal Massage:

Prenatal massage is a type of massage therapy that is designed specifically for pregnant women to help alleviate some of the discomforts associated with pregnancy. The therapist uses gentle, soothing techniques to promote relaxation, reduce stress and anxiety, and relieve muscle tension and pain. Prenatal massage can also improve circulation, reduce swelling, and help improve sleep quality. The therapist may use specially designed pillows or positions to ensure the safety and comfort of the mother and baby.
